I am a PhD candidate at the Department of Government, University of Vienna, researching the link between voters’ policy preferences and parties’ positions in Europe. I employ quantitative methods, particularly cross-sectional and panel survey data, and survey experiments.
My research lies at the intersection of voting behaviour, public opinion and political representation. I am particularly interested in how voters perceive and respond to politicians’ and parties’ policy positions. Alongside my dissertation, I am working on several articles on political accountability, examining questions such as: (1) how voters rationalise their support for politicians involved in political scandals; and (2) whether voters penalise parties for adopting ambiguous policy positions.
